He had been trained to fill the pilot's seat in the control cabin of a fighting plane and for nothing else. The search for a niche in civilian life had cost him both health and ambition.
안드레 앨리스 노턴 (Andre Alice Norton )은 미국의 공상 과학 소설 과 판타지 작가였으며 역사 소설과 현대 소설도 썼다. 그녀는 주로 필명 Andre Norton 으로 글을 썼지 만 Andrew North 와 Allen Weston 으로도 글을 썼다 . 그녀는 판타지의 간달프 그랜드 마스터, SFWA 그랜드 마스터, SF 및 판타지 명예의 전당 에 입성 한 최초의 여성이었다 .

Andre Alice Norton was an American science fiction and fantasy author who also wrote historical and contemporary novels. She wrote primarily under her pen name, Andre Norton, but also wrote with Andrew North and Allen Weston. She was the first woman to be inducted into the Gandalf Grand Master of Fantasy, SFWA Grand Master, and the Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame.
Norton's first published science fiction novel was her short story "The People of the Crater," which appeared under the name "Andrew North" on pages 4–18 of the inaugural 1947 issue of Fantasy Book, a magazine of Fantasy Publishing Company, Inc. It has been done. Her first fantasy novel, Huon of the Horn, published under her own name by Harcourt Brace in 1951, adapted the 13th-century story of Huon, Duke of Bordeaux. Her first science fiction novel, Star Man's Son, 2250 AD, was published by Harcourt in 1952.
