An Antarctic Mystery (Le Sphinx des glaces, The Sphinx of the Ice Fields) is a two-volume novel by Jules Verne. Written in 1897, it is the sequel to Edgar Allan Poe's 1838 novel The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket. You can read the adventures of the narrator and the journey of Halbrain on the Kergelen Islands.

쥘 가브리엘 베른(Jules Gabriel Verne, 1828년 ~ 1905년)은 프랑스의 소설가, 시인, 극작가다. 출판사 Pierre-Jules Hetzel과의 협력으로 The Center to the Center of the Earth(1864), Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas(1870), 그리고 “80일간의 세계 일주”를 포함한 일련의 베스트셀러 모험 소설을 출간하였다.
소설 외에도 수많은 희곡, 단편 소설, 자전적 이야기, 시, 노래, 과학, 예술, 문학 연구를 저술했다. 그의 작품은 영화의 시작부터 영화와 텔레비전, 만화책, 연극, 오페라, 음악, 비디오 게임에 적용되었다.
